I can't tell you the number of times that I've walked past Black Cherries - guilty as charged, I should know by now that you can't judge a book by it's cover. The bustle of the Fremantle Markets meets the Yard is definitely not my ideal ambiance - I can't imagine sitting down amongst it all for a few hours when the weekend racket is unfolding all around me. Ironically enough, after my first visit to Black Cherries - I've ended up doing exactly that. Numerous times. I ate my words and drank their amazing coffee too; let's just say that nobody does a Piccolo like they do.
My new favourite thing to do, is to grab a donut from across the Yard and tear a bite sized chunk, before plunging it into Black Cherries' delicious Dark Star wonder. It's like a good cop's coffee and donut dream; the kind of combination that brings people together. I couldn't help but lick my sugar crusted fingertips like a child; every Sunday I spend here just always happens to amount to perfection. If you've got a spare moment, take a seat in between the pans of paella and the maestros of coffee making - it's a joy to watch them go quick, quick, slow along with the market crowd. $3 coffee that lingers and good vibes to last the rest of the week; what more could you ask for?

Ps. Rhi kinda really killed it this week - I love her Black Cherries photojournal and not because I'm suppose to, but I truly believe that she managed to capture the spirit of what this little nook amongst the crowd really is.
